LA PANDA “TRASFORMATA” IN AUTO ELETTRICA DA CONFARTIGIANATO VICENZA E TREVISO ATTRAVERSO IL PROGETTO “REBORN” SCELTA COME TESTIMONIAL PER L’APERTURA DELLA GIORNATA MONDIALE DELL’AMBIENTE PROMOSSA DALL’ONU E OSPITATA QUEST’ANNO DAL GOVERNO ITALIANO NELL’AM
Reborn è un progetto nato dalla collaborazione tra Confartigianato Treviso e Vicenza – attraverso una rete di imprese artigiane dei settori autoriparazione, elettromeccanica e metalmeccanica – che ha come obiettivi lo sviluppo di know-how e innovazione tecnologica nel campo della riqualificazione di auto usate con la trasformazione del motore a combustione interna in motore elettrico, nonché lo sviluppo di una rete di autofficine specializzate nell’attività di trasformazione.
La prima vettura prototipo per la quale è stato messo a punto il metodo è una Fiat Panda del 2009. Nata con un propulsore a combustione interna, oggi dispone di un “cuore” elettrico, mantenendo tutte le funzionalità e le dotazioni originarie, a partire dal cambio meccanico, con la stessa gamma di rapporti esistenti. Il risultato finale è un’auto molto silenziosa (produce solo un soffio anziché il solito rumore) ed economica, che percorre circa 100 km a un costo che si aggira tra i 2 e i 3 euro.
Il progetto è piaciuto così tanto che lo staff dell’ONU ha voluto utilizzare la Panda prototipata Reborn per giungere al convegno di apertura della Giornata Mondiale dell’Ambiente dal titolo “Sette miliardi di sogni. Un Pianeta. Consumare con cautela” a Expo Milano.
Achim Steiner, Sottosegretario Generale dell’ONU e direttore esecutivo del Programma delle Nazioni Unite per l’Ambiente (UNEP), e Yaya Touré, campione internazionale di calcio in forza al Manchester City nonché ambasciatore Unep, sono stati “prelevati” oggi (venerdì 5 giugno 2015) dal loro hotel in centro a Milano con una Tesla Model S e trasferiti al punto di ricarica elettrica sito in via Degli Alberghi a Rho, per poi proseguire a bordo della Panda Reborn che li ha condotti al Gate n° 9 (nei pressi della Cascina Triulza) dell’Expo Milano.
THE UN CHOSES “REBORN” – THE CONVENTIONAL FIAT PANDA CAR “TRANSFORMED” INTO AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE BY CONFARTIGIANATO VICENZA AND TREVISO – AS TESTIMONIAL FOR THE OPENING OF WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY AT EXPO MILAN 2015
“Reborn” is a project developed by Confartigianato Vicenza and Treviso (Craft and SMEs Associations) with the participation of SMEs in the auto repair, electro mechanic and metal mechanic fields. Its objective is to increase knowhow and technical innovation in the field of the conversion of internal-combustion engine used cars and transforming them into e-vehicles. Moreover, the project has established a network of auto repair shops that are competent in implementing and managing this transformation process.
A used 2009 Fiat Panda car was turned into the prototype of this innovative method and it is now the proud owner of an electric “heart”, even though it has maintained all the original features and equipment. This includes its manual transmission, with the same range of gears as the original internal-combustion engine car. The final result is a very quiet (it produces only a gentle puff instead of the usual noise) and economical car that can travel for up to 100 km for under 3 €.
The UN chose “Reborn” as the official vehicle to reach the opening ceremony of World Environment called “Day Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet. Consume with Care” which is hosted by the Italian Government at Expo Milan 2015. Achim Stainer, UNEP Executive Director and Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations, and Yaya Touré, Manchester City and international football player and UNEP Global Ambassador, were picked up this morning (Friday 5th June 2015) at their hotel in the city centre of Milan by an S-Model Tesla and taken to the electric charging station in Rho (via Degli Alberghi) were they jumped on the “Reborn” Panda car that drove them to Expo Milan’s entry Gate nr. 9 (beside Cascina Triulza).
